What is acupuncture and how can it help me?

Our Bodies are like electric boxes with intelligent energy flowing through them that enable us to live, move and be who we are. This Neuro Electricity emanates from our nervous system and fires our hearts to beat and our bodies to function and is fundamental for our health and well being. Many people know someone whose heart is not beating regularly and has a cardiac pacemaker installed to provide the needed electricity to fire the Heart. This shows that we are truly electric beings.
This intelligent energy which the Chinese called Qi I call Electriciqi. It flows through 12 main pathways from our heads to our toes with each pathway being connected to a organ. Thus there is the Liver Pathway, The Heart Pathway, The Stomach Pathway and so on. Over time due to various internal and external reasons this energy becomes partially blocked along their pathways much like plaque blocks our blood vessels. When this happens disease can result in the corresponding organs. When The Kidney Pathway is blocked people experience Back Pain, Knee Problems, Hearing problems and OBGYN challenges. When the Stomach and Spleen Pathway is blocked people experience Depression, Constipation, Immune System Concerns and Low Energy. Each Pathway manifests different symptoms when it becomes blocked.
As a Acupuncturist my job is to find out where the blockage is then take a stainless steel electrical conductor (a hair-thin needle) and clear it. When I do this health and normal body function results in a incremental natural way.
This is a good place to start with your understanding of how acupuncture works. I encourage patients to ask questions and I'll answer them along the way.
What should I wear to a Acupuncture appointment ?
Please wear or bring loose fitting comfortable clothing.
Do you have a cancelation policy ?
Yes, In order to heal in the most expeditious way you will need to be committed and consistent with your treatments. Please keep this in mind when choosing a time for acupuncture that is sustainable for your schedule. If you do need to cancel a appointment please contact me a minimal of 24 hours in advance.
Patients who cancel appointments after 24 hours in advance may be charged for their appointment.
Does Acupuncture hurt ?
Acupuncture needles are hair thin and are surprisingly painless upon insertion. The underling feeling of a dull ache, burning or electric sensation if felt dissipates almost immediately. This feeling is the stainless steel single use sterile needle coming into contact with the nuero-electrical energy at the acupuncture point. Once they are in place, surprisingly many patients fall asleep or feel very relaxed.
How many visits will it take to see results and or heal ?
When patients are committed and consistent with their treatments they can feel better with each successive treatment. Usually patients feel different after their first treatment with their symptoms improving with each successive treatment. Over the years I've healed patients in 1 treatment but this is rare. Most conditions need at least 10 treatments to show significant improvement. Patients are then encouraged to continue with less frequent maintenance treatments to sustain their results and well being. Acupuncture is a fix for many health care problems but it is usually not a quick fix. The body wants to heal and to a large degree will heal given consistent acupuncture treatments. My job is to cooperate with your bodies normal desire to heal itself and endeavor to remove any obstacle blocking your healing. Your job is to show up and trust the process. When patients do this they see results and their bodies heal.
How long are treatments ?
First appointments are 50 to 60 minutes. Follow up treatments are 35 to 45 minutes in duration. Treatments are very relaxing and many patients fall asleep during treatment.
